The Borgo Felice housing complex an example of efficient construction

Borgo Felice is a new residential building under construction in the city of Bari, under the initiative of theconstruction company Gruppo Simone Srl.
The project aims to heal an urban void by inserting a residential complex of great value in a space that had been abandoned for years, now the subject of urban redevelopment.

The project consists of three blocks developed over 9 decks and basement floor used as garages, two small buildings and green condominium areas.
Such a complex structure, with a size of nearly 40,000 square meters, involves several design and construction complexities, some of which were solved by the use of lightweight prefabrication with MTR® technology.

MTR® System: the ideal construction choice from design...

For this residential project, the type of MTR® T beam in combination with several precast slabs.

For the elevation floors, the MTR® T beam on formwork with a trussed joist floor and EPS lightening, made it possible to achieve slab-thickness beams on the entire perimeter, a result unattainable with a traditional reinforced concrete structure.
In addition, given the lower stresses generated by the MTR® beams, the sections of the pillars are further reduced, offering the obvious benefit of better architectural distribution, and thus greater usability of interior spaces; an added value of our construction solution.

For the basement used as a garage, the MTR® T beam resting directly on the bottom of the predall slab provided the R120 protection of the design, making a one-way lightened solid slab.

... to the construction site

One of the other main needs of the client was to reduce the construction time of this large building as much as possible. The use of our MTR® beams led to a true industrialization of the building process. In 9 months, 2,840 MTR® beams were delivered.
MTR® elements were placed directly on the columns without needing additional machining, avoiding the burden of assembling reinforcement on site.

In addition to speed, it is important to emphasize thesite organization that makes light prefabrication possible, facilitating adherence to the progress of work according to the schedule of the entire construction. Using MTR® beams also means working on cleaner and therefore safer construction sites, determined by the drastic reduction of provisional material (wooden carpentry, unassembled irons, etc.) otherwise needed to make the beams in place.

In the construction of works with large numbers, MTR® System is the construction solution that best meets the various project requirements. Prefabrication is a method of building construction that has numerous advantages regarding time, cost, sustainability and more.
